Miniature garnitures were ordered to furnish dolls houses and very few survive complete, as one would expect for toys. This particular set is unrecorded and earlier than most of the known ones. During the Kangxi reign many miniatures were manufactured, mostly decorated in under-glaze cobalt blue, and, in the second half of the 18th century, they were decorated in opaque enamels (fencai).
